The Department of Metallurgical Engineering is dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and professional training in the science and engineering of metals and materials. Our Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Metallurgical Engineering is a four-year degree program comprising eight semesters, designed to develop skilled engineers capable of addressing challenges in materials extraction, processing, manufacturing, and performance.
The curriculum provides a strong foundation in physical metallurgy, extractive metallurgy, materials science, thermodynamics, kinetics, corrosion engineering, and materials characterization, complemented by hands-on laboratory work, industrial visits, internships, and a final-year design project. Students gain practical exposure to modern metallurgical processes, testing techniques, and computational tools relevant to industry and research.
